Sorry mate, been having major problems at home, hence not being on here for a while:(

Anyway

What ever you do, don't buy a heater from an official Calor Direct centre, as you will be charged way over the top, for example, I was enquiring about a patio heater (last year) for Wilf, and Calor wanted £150 and if you shop around you can get the same heater for less than £100.

for indoor use, a butane heater would be best as butane has a higher carbon content than propane so will burn hotter.

Technical specs

Butane formula C4H10 boiling temp 0deg
Propane Formula C3H8 boiling temp -57deg

despite propane having a significantly lower boiling temp, it does not mean that it will give off more heat, the problem being is that if butane is used outside on a cold winter day/night, the pressure will be non existant as the gas will stay in it's liquified state.

sorry, going slightly off topic now!!

your best bet is to shop around mate, places like B&Q and garden centre will sell them.

Also, if you use Calor gas bottles (butane) you can get the heater checked over for free (Health check) parts, etc are extra
