Ferodo DS2500 pads

Does anyone use these just for street use?
I have a StopTech front kit, and need a pad change.
ALthough i currently have StopTech's own Axxis Ultimate pad at the minute, i was wondering what the DS2500 would be like?
I know a lot of ppl seem to rate them on here, but i was after a more road related review, if you like.
So, roadwise, what are they like?
And what are they like cold?

Very good all round pad and good for street use.

Good bite from cold and not as dirty as Pagid RS4.2-1s IMHO

Just fitted them all round replacing standard Brembo, better cold, better warm and night and day better hot. Best investment I’ve made in the car :)

dynamix 12 August 2006 07:16 AM

agreed

great pads - only downside is some squeal when braking softly..... worth it for the bite cold and hot though :D

100% agree. Fitted a set from AS Performance last week and they are fantastic :thumb:

Agreed. Tried Red Stuff, Green Stuff, Predator, Pagid, and Mintex 1144 and DS2500 are the best of the lot.

DS 2500 are the business. Very effective in all temperatures:)

jimbob6242 14 August 2006 10:38 PM

just fitted mine, very good set up and i am really really impressed. Bite is much better than mine standard setup, however you really notice the difference braking from high speed - I keep pulling up short!

theotherphil 14 August 2006 10:39 PM

Yup, I'm running them on my AP 6 pots on the road....a great all round pad!

warrenm2 17 August 2006 11:17 AM

good for road, not so great when they get really hot on the track

rasheedn 17 August 2006 08:30 PM

dynamix 17 August 2006 08:53 PM

dynamix 17 August 2006 10:18 PM

more but who cares - i stop before i hit stuff and that works for me :D i can cope with a bit of brake dust.

thanks for the reply

I've got DS2500 front and back, before I had Redstuff from EBC.
Comparing the 2, I've found the DS2500 far superior, better feel, better bite,
less dust.

Highly recomended as an all around pad, and they do take track abuse quite well too:)

rasheedn 18 August 2006 11:44 AM

quick question, where do u guys buy them from? trying to import them to israel and i am having problems with companies delivering without charging me more than 50 for just delivery!!! (only pads!!!)

thanks

dynamix 18 August 2006 12:18 PM

I buy from the UK - ran a GB for them about a month back on them - dont think you find a UK company that will ship to Israel. Best to get them shipped to someone you know in the uk and get them to post on to you - but they will cost a lot for postage cos they are heavy :D

Also interested in front and back for MY01...was in your group buy Dynamix but had to drop out due to lack of funds...Needed as soon as, is there any other scooby sites doing group buys

dynamix 18 August 2006 01:01 PM

not that i am aware of - give alyn at ASP a call he may sort a SN deal for you - maybe not GB prices but will be good I am sure.

SCOOBYG 18 August 2006 06:30 PM

How is the cold stopping performance of these pads? I am looking to get some but heard some bad reports about their stopping ability when cold a while back on here.

dynamix 18 August 2006 07:00 PM

better than standard OE pads IMO but when they get warm/hot they perform best.

Thanks for all the info ppl :D
I am back at API on the 29th so David is trying to source some of these to fit for me when they fit my ALK as well.
So what with that and the quick rack, camber bolts, and stuff, i ought to have one finely 'tuned' suspension setup.
Right, now i'm off to find someone good enough to drive it! LOLz0rs.
