Trying to change dashboard lighting colour, PLEASE HELP

I cant get a decent method of changing the colour of the dashboard lighting on my 2000X classic from green to blue. I'm experimenting on the heater console at the moment and I've tried:

LED, doesn't cast light through the plastic light matrix only straight ahead.
Painted bulbs to get a blue theat doesnt come out green the paint ends up too thick and you cant see the console backlit.
Painted the back of the console cover, half decent blue but far too dim to risk stripping the speedo down to use the same method. Plus i've no idea what the inside of the clock would look like.

So has anyone here sucessfully changed the colour of their dash? If so, I would be very grateful if you could advise me please.

Many thanks

David

Varad do different types of dashboard led and the high power ones should be suitable.

aw come on, please.
I just spent 2 days waiting for someone on imprezasport.net to post pics and a how to and it ended up being his clocks and not his heater controls. Is everyone driving round with different coloured clocks from the the rest od their dashboard?
