Own website/domain name buying....

keep the answers simple please...IT geek i am not!!!

my company, ABC Ltd, is tying up with another company XYZ Ltd. XYZ ltd have said they can sort out a website using their own templates which they re-brand for me (this isnt too sexy but fine for now, i'll go bespoke nexy year some time)

if i do this my web address will be WWW.XYZ.CO.UK/ABC .....i dont want this address on my branding as it looks like i work for XYZ ltd and i dont.

so i want people to type WWW.ABC.CO.UK and get re-directed to the template site.............and next year the bespoke site will be up anyway and live at ABC.CO.UK.

so....what do i need? do i just use one of the zillions of domain places and register ABC.CO.UK? how do i set up the re-direct?

About .0000000001% of clients will ever look at the site so the issue is simplicty, not a great website!

www.123-reg.co.uk

Approx £2 for 2 years domain registration.

Unlimited email forwarding etc Very very easy to use.
To forward to your site you just enter your domain name where your site is hosted e.g. www.mydomain.co.uk/mysite
So when you type abc.co.uk you get transfered to your site!:thumb:

I got five names from them so simple to use and cheap!:notworthy

As an example www.teajunkie.co.uk this redirects to my free webspace i got with my ISP.

agree with TJ. I to use 123-reg. I had them set me up with 200meg of webspace and i can redirect any of my domain names to that space. real easy to do as they do all the work for you.

This is one of my sites. not great but i knocked it up in about 20 minutes.
