Sorry as there's no IT forum (yet) I'm putting this hear.
briefly, does anyone know how to get rid of the text in the title bar of Outlook Express> It says Outlook Express provided by ic24. I want to get shot of the provided by bit ('cause it wasn't the cheecky gets). Am running Win2K and OE 5 (5.50.4133.2400). I Have tried Local Settings in MMC (User COnfigWindows SettingsIE MaintenanceBrowser User Interface). It reckons it should be blank. |
sickboy,
you need to hack the registry. I've seen somewhere what you need to do, so unless someone else comes up with it before I find it again I'll be back....... http://www.cartooncars.com/images/pr...mprezasilv.jpg |
I did a search for the entry on the title bar using regedit. Then just change it. Hope this helps

Here it is.
Backup your system files. Run regedit Open up the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER Identities {bla bla bla} (there will be around 3 of these) Software Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0 On the right hand side you should find "Windows Title", which you can edit (saving on exit). You may have to search through the other {xxxx} bits before you find the right one, mine was in the second. Cheers, http://www.cartooncars.com/images/pr...mprezasilv.jpg |
XRS,
you're a star. I can't tell you how long I've been trying to work out where that bleeding title was! Much obliged. |
The same goes for Internet Explorer, but I seem to remember that it is under a different section, so just run Regedit and do a search for "provided by XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" and change to whatever you want "provided by Scooby doo" http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif
