Spec "C" Nicked Look out for it !

We had Ford Fair here [Silverstone] at the weekend and some toerag had it away with our Spec "C". So if someone offers you a used Carbon prop or used HPS WR04 suspension they could be from our car.

It's easy to spot its got WRC Technologies up each side in 3 foot letters.

Any help appreciated

Sorry to hear about this Allan.

Is nothing safe from these toe rags?

Kevin

BlueSimon 08 August 2006 09:33 AM

I was parked up at silverstone 2 weekends ago, probably another 20 scoobs too (classic car racing).

Nothings safe anywhere now.

BTW being WRC i thought you might have come up with some super security device.

Anyone know how they are bypassing the ecu security?

I might make a little tin box for my key so that people cant scan th rfid chip (which is one way of doing it), anyone brush passed you when you parked the car?

Simon

Very sorry to hear about this. I hope they die!!!

But again, why aren't people using Diskloks????

Surely that would help to deter them somewhat??

TBH if they are able to get past the alarm and tracker (if it had one) removing a disclock won't be a problem for them

How though?? They look pretty sturdy to me. I though you'd need somthing like an engle grinder to get them off.

True, but it must act as some form of deterrent, if only to slow them down a bit or cause more noise and attract some attention.

Anyone heard of a scoob being stolen with a disclock being fitted? Just curious.

wolfie28 08 August 2006 12:29 PM

Thats BAD news, lots of Scoobs being stolen lately and most from Shows/events, theme parks and the like :Suspiciou.

Hope the cars gets found OK and the offenders NOT!!!

:( Wolfie.

They reckon someone who knows what they are doing, right tools and not bothered by noise or attracting attention can get them off 5 mins. Normal scum without the right tools anything up to 30 mins and RAC / AA etc 30 mins upwards from what i gather.

Either way disclock gets my vote, they are a pain in the ass / visual deterrent but will not stop someone, just slow them down to varying degrees.

why dont they have allocated parking for performance cars only, with feck off great anti ram devices. as you come in you show your ticket and DL, to leave you have to show you DL , if you want your car secure you suffer abit of i
nconveniance

Im off to halfrauds now to get a disclock and a gearlock, i think people including myself are becoming more increasingly worried about taking their pride and joys to these events/ race circuits now. Especialy with these thieving scumbags able to get past pretty much any security device.

Is it just scoobies that they are targeting or any high performance car ?

bad news  but the above will get the insurance company thinking ;)

essexboy30 18 August 2006 01:37 PM

Gearlock is approx 15 seconds to remove... unless your going to pin your gear know through the gear shaft.

Stearing disc lock - make sure it's thatcham approved. That will give you at least 2 minutes protection. if not, again seconds...

Taken from the guy who's job is to break into cars!
