Best high street place to change ££ to euros...?

As above, where can I get the best rates/no/low commisoin for converting some punds into euros?

Im trying to avoid the airport, as the rates are clearly not competitive....

Cheers!

Try your local POst Office! You will be surprised at the rate and free buy back!

I used Marks and Spensers this week the rate was 1.435
note that only the larger stores offer this

Personally I often use travelex at heathrow (or whichever airport I am flying from) but that is because I get 3 BA miles for every £1 converted ;) )
Even better, get a nationwide debit&credit card. No charge for foreign withdrawals/transactions, and they tend to give accurate exchange rates. It is normally pretty much spot on the proper exchange rate- unlike most places which have adjusted the rate to take a cut then advertised as some bull**** 'comission free' or 'free of charge' service
