I'm no expert on this, but I'm having some ported headers, full exhaust system, FMIC and modifed air intake system fitted in two weeks time. I then have to drive 100 miles up to Edinbugh to get the car mapped, but have been told (by Andy Forrest no less :notworthy ) that it will be fine to drive so long as I take it very easy and STAY OFF BOOST! Hope this helps.

refit the standard ecu and maf.. drive there and swap over..

either that of globally remove 5degrees timing every time you start it..

SETTINGS -> IGN/INJ down arrow 5times.. it resets when ignition off though and drive it off boost

I drove 120 miles to Andy's place, including getting lost in Edinburgh on the way. I had the most basic of ECUs (a U8) expecting 380cc injectors, TMIC, Airbox etc. The car had 550's, FMIC, Induction, Headers etc and it coped. The fuel pressure was set a little lower than normal to avoid too much over fueling.

Just drive OFF boost as Andy says and it'll be fine. 65 mph all the way :)

Thanks mate,

ur a true gent, i dont have the old ecu or air flow sensor, ive changed the air flow meter on the controller, and been knocking 6 degrees of timing off,

im setting off a 5 am to miss traffic and cruise up there at 60,
also is it worth keeping an eye on the knock sensor on my controller, or is the pfc accurate in the slightest?

6 degrees should be ample.. I said 5 as most of the map even with little or no boost is 3~4degrees to much for SOME MY99~00 imho..

the knock reading on the commander is fairly good.. MY00 I would expect off boost to be fairly low.. below 10..
