how cr@p are the classic impreza headlights??

When out last night and I had to put my headlights on for the first time (since I have had my impreza) and I could hardly see where I was going with diped beam, then when it was save to do so, I used main beam, and that was just as useless - this was on a B class road.

how what can I do to improve the lights. If I was to get a pair of bulbs (something like piaa super plasma) or do I go all out and get a HID kit??

This I feel is something I need to get done amongst other things.

If you really want to fork out £££ for overpriced bulbs feel free.

My Lucas 90/130watt bulbs work fine :)

Either way, uprated wattage bulbs make a difference. Just make sure they are higher wattage that the stock, the fancy branded ones in the likes of Halfords etc that claim to be brighter but are the same wattage as stock don't make that much difference.

Don't you recomend the PIAA ones??

I only mentioned the PIAA ones as an example.

Shark Man 30 July 2006 03:23 PM

No I'm not saying they aren't any good, just that PIAA are on the pricey side, for what is essentially a bulb compared to other brands :)

Also if your current bulbs are getting on a bit they do go yellow-ish and dull over time as the filament fuses together. So you may have got to the point that any new bulb will be better than what you have.

Also worthwhile getting the beam aim adjusted to as high as it'll go within MOT limits.
