SIDC Stand at Rally day

What a disapointing stand SIDC had at the Rally Day on Saturday. I've been to alot of shows and this is by bar the most embarrising display by SIDC to date.

The likes of the MLR and RS owners club put the Subaru stand to shame

MLR= Nice location, Flags, Banners, large 20' trailer that turns into a show stand.

RS owners = nice location, Flags, Banners, motor sport type Gazeebo's

Pug Owners club = Flags, Banners and a couple of motor sport Gazeebo's

SIDC =, small crappy location (Better than japfest mind you!) Small Asda Gazeebo and a Tiny A3 sign.

Well worth the £30 that we've been forced to pay to if we want to park in the SIDC enclosers. Me thinks not.

If this is what we are to expect from the rest of the shows I won't be paying for member ship next year.

probably more to do with JAE being on at the same day

AndyC_772 24 July 2006 03:51 PM

Rallyday clashed with JAE, where the SIDC stand was absolutely superb and won the 'best in show' award.

They can't be everywhere at once...

As above, had a cracking display at JAE! :notworthy

Apologies but I have seen many good reports from Rally day by other members

We have spoken to both organisers and the clash will not happen next year

In reverse the MLR had one car on there stand at JAE on saturday !

We can't be everywhere

All the eggs in one basket then??

Good use of resources then, nothing at one show and everything but the kitchen sink at another

Actually, Southwest Scoobies seemed to be the SIDC presence at Rallyday and did a good job of directing the cars etc. So well done to them.

Thanks John

Heard similar myself and am rather pleased with the way the guys at Southwest sorted it for us :notworthy

As for the Eggs in one basket comment Danny we only have limited stand facilities I am affraid we made the decision after discussing it with our SW RO who was happy to marshal the SIDC Area

and give us a presence at the Show

If you still have issues please feel free to call me

dynamix 24 July 2006 06:46 PM

on the contrary it was a laugh that MLR did not even turn up at JAE until late on sat night cos of Rally Day.

At least SIDC had a back up plan for the clash.

MLR members were wandering around wondering where their stand was - in the end a few of them parked up with us at scoobycity :D

Big Den 24 July 2006 11:41 PM

There were plenty of scooby's on show at Rally Day with the RB5OC especially well represented and a number of area scooby clubs along trackside away from the main static area.

What I found disappointing was the lack of an official presence from Subaru UK (IM) or SWRT. Mitsubushi had a good presence based around their WRC car, with current models & the show stand. Ford were similar with the Focus WRC housed in a service bay set-up adjacent to a Focus WRC simulator, a Ford Direct vehicle display and the Rothmans based Mk2 Escort display (which included several other MK1 & 2 Rally cars or replicas & an Andrews Heat for Hire 3 door Sierra Cosworth)

I've sent a thank you to SWS for getting everyone parked up on the stand, scooby princess did come around and ask everyone if everything was ok .
It is a shame that subaru did not make more of an effort as the brand is so involved in rallying.

fatmanscooby 27 July 2006 06:24 PM

So there wasnt a SIDC flag Big deal. I had a ball with the Welsh contingent especially in the downpour even the Brolly leaked. These meets arent about how many Flags you have its about having a crack isnt it??
