torque steer
 

Anyone ever suffered from torque steer on there scoob?, saw a post on another forum about a guy saying 200bhp cause torque steer in his v6 vectra, he then went on to say his scoob with 240bhp does it all over the place, anyone else have this or is the set up a monkeys job causing it?

Mine does 'squirm' a bit in a straight line. Only when nailing it though.

I think some geometry adjustment might improve things.

Also, afaik the vectra's fwd, so 200bhp through the front wheels is very likely to torque steer like a bitch.

240bhp through all four wheels should be much less (if everything else was equal).

imho vectra's are total sh*te anyway; at least the torque steer may take your attention away from the indicators and other rubbsih bits! :D

i only seem to get it when the road is wet

Any 4wd car will Torque steer, as there is power going to the front wheels. It is vastly reduced however, but still there. I get it on mine (05 STI PPP) but only on really rough roads and when nailing the throttle in a low gear.

I thought torque steer only appeared in cars with unequel length drive shafts, as one will twist more than the other thus making the vehicle stear towards the side with the longer drive shaft. I also thought that the scoobs had equel lenght drive shafts at the front and rear.

so whatever your feeling might not bet torque steer, but quite possibly a slight loss of traction on one side. Due to road conditions, geometry, tyre pressures etc.
