Best hair clippers
 

I'm getting annoyed at this, Damn things either break, or stop cutting - even though I clean and lube them.

Anyone reccomend any decent hair clippers that don't break the bank?

Do you get them from Argos, or a proper salon suppliers?




BTW expect lots of replies pointing you to MX5oc and TTOC...

Remington ceramics, never need oiled or sharpened :thumb:

Last pair were from boots. Remington "titanium", they work, just they don't cut. Not supposed to need lubing either. Cleaned them to no effect eitehr. Crap. :mad:

I have very fine stranded and dense hair. i.e far from going bald yet :D

I could understand it if I let my hair grow, but for sakes of a trim its getting silly now.
My stubble/beard kills electric shavers too Philishave is the only one that has held up as of yet.

Have to look at the Ceramic, cheers. Just hope its not like the Titanium.

Until recently I had a #0, used my own clippers. Went to the US for a long holiday last year and needed to get my hair cut - could not be @rsed finding a local barbers so spent $7.99 in Wal-Mart and they were the best clippers I have ever used, was back to a #0 in about 60 seconds. Would have brought them home but the mrs wanted the suitcase space for handbags... :Whatever_

i got some Whal ones about 10+ years ago and they're still going strong - i bought another set as back up a couple of years ago just in case they packed up half way through a cut though

hmm - £15 for Whal Vs £5 per hairdressers X every 3 weeks X 10+ years :)

Another vote for Wahl from me. Ours have been going strong for years, and have been round the world twice with my brother.

My first was a Wahl, 2nd Babyliss, 3rd and 4th Remington (replaced it under warrantee for the same problem now)

Myself and a mate both have these, and we've both noticed that sometimes they occasionally jam and stop cutting. Then need to be stripped down, cleaned, oiled, reassembled etc. It's a bit worrying when you're half way through giving yourself a 0.5 and they pack up. :eek:

Sounds like the same problem with the Titaniums. I've been there, half shaved head and screwdriver in hand, and pulling loads of ultrafine hair clippings out of the thing undernearth the blade and the spongy thing.

Getting rather miffed at having to keep doing it now.

Whal for me too :) do a bleddy good job of it too. have used others, but none really compare...:)

Which model wahl though? :cry:

Used to use Wahl but now using a Babyliss type 24. Best I've ever had plus came in a metal attache case type thingy with all combs, scissors etc etc.
Good cut, never breaks down and charge lasts for at least 10 cuts(number 1)

Whal model number 9217.. proper barber shop jobbies..:)

Can't tell you till i get home, sorry. I know they cost about 40 quid some years ago if that helps....proberbly not

My other half uses Remington and not had a pick of bother with them :)

£40 from my hairdreser

I use the Remington Ceramics, never had a problem and no lube.

Wahl are good, but they don't go close enough for me, Remington Ceramics for me, sod my latest clippers - Phillishave, may as well use a pair of blunt nail scissors

Other half bought a cheapie set off the market...... think they lasted 2 cuts...... they just constantly snagged the hair as they trimmed.

my ex father in law used to own a hairdresser supplies/scissor sharpening business, and I always remember him saying that the Wahl were by far the best clippers...... so I told my now other half to get some.
we got them from Argos (cat.no. 442/1719 £29.99) 3 piece set, can be used on either mains or they are rechargable. had them 6 months and never had any problems.. they've more than paid for themselves already.:thumb:
