anyone get sciatic pain? any pills, potions or remedies that work?

deep bloody joy, for some reason i've got this pain back after being 6 months free of it:mad:

googled for remedies, but most are books or some sort of witch doctor voodoo ****e.

it is quite literally, a pain in the arse. so does anyone have any exercises or maybe homeopathic(sp?) remedies that'll help?

ta:)

elbow in the buttock, this is what i did for my girlfriend whilst she was pregnant, got her to lay on her side then found the painfull bit with my elbow, then basically leant on it, don't move it, it hurt her a bit, and her but started twitching, but after a few sessions of this a day it was gone in a week.
i was taught this at the hospital, its tried and tested, ask any midwife
hope that helps
don't blame me if it goes wrong though, and don't blame me if the person you ask laughs when you ask them to stick their elbow in your butt!

cheers for the link maz, sorry to hear you suffer too. any joy since you posted that thread?

been reading countless things on google for a couple of days now and something that stuck in my mind were some homeopathic pills called nux vomica that were listed among others as a helpfull thing to take.

well i've been popping them like smarties (had them advised to me for hangovers:confused: ) and it has eased off a bit. mind you, it does ease off towards the end of the day anyway.

biggest pisser is it's only come back since i've been riding my push bike to work:mad: so much for getting you fitter FFS!!! oddly enough it's now back in the shed with the spiders:D

might keep that idea as a back-up miltski;)

It has susbsided but not totally gone. Certain positions will aggravate others relieve it. Pain killers and anti inflammatory tabs will help. Best advice is seek some help from chiropractor/osteopath. You should need only a few sessions so that will keep the cost down.:thumb:

taking pain killers in the morn but they're spacing me out a bit so double edged sword there.

bit wary of the oesteopath as tbh it only came about first time round after i went to him when i did my back in. not doubting a better one may help, but just a bit sceptical.

had a couple of specialist appointments (2nd one early this year) but these were when it was dying down first time round so a bit of a waste of time all round. just wish he could see me in the mornings at the mo:(

My osteopath was a friend of a friend so I wasn't messed about. It is a bit of a lottery admittedly. Try ice on the affected area I know it sounds silly but it will help the inflammation. Best of luck.:thumb:
