How do i adjust my idle valve???

hi mate you can do it by moveing thr throttle switch till its right scoobyclinic did mine tuck him 15 mins .but you need it pluging in to a pc to get it spot on ....hope this helps . chris

There is a manual way that can be done via the cold start (think thats what it' called). Located on inlet maifold, it's held on by two srews, undo then slightly and rotate while car is running, tighten when it reaches normal idling.
It's hard to miss, it's like a creamy grey plastic cap. pm me if in doubt and will try to send pics later. |
The cream part of the ICV is the solenoid, i've never found a documented way of adjusting it. I adjusted mine by using the following method.
Warm the car up fully (take for good drive) Let the car idle and disconnect the plug on the ICV (this puts valve in mid position) Loosen the 2 screws and turn the solenoid until you get around 8-900rpm tighten screws and reconnect. I checked the control voltages from the ECU after this and they were near spot on identicle, just means the ecu has full up and down control of idle speed. Worked for me. |
One more thing, mark the valve before doing anything, least if it all goes bad you can put it back!!
