I heard (hmm ok...read) in another thread about DRMotorsport (No connection... Just fancy a good deal!) offering a possible group buy on PIAA Driving Lights.. Complete kit including Brackets for £245... A saving of nearly £100....

I would imagine that this is a duplicate thread with me being slow... but put your names down... and help me get some new lights cheaply...

Regards

David

edited cos I forgot to put a link to their site...

Might be interested - let me have a think...

Fizz 06 November 2001 11:05 PM

Interested indeed as long as they fit MY01 ok. I am ringing tomorrow to speak to them to find out. (ordering spolier probably too :D

Seriously interested....... count me in!

Unless, of course, someone who has used both PIAA's and Morettes can tell me if the Morettes (with uprated bulbs) are better?

£345 for a set of PIAA's? - I only paid £225 from GGR (mind you, did buy two sets:)).

Fizz, yes, they do go straight on a MY01. Exactly the same mountings.

WUZ
We are running MY01 with Morettes/Philips Vision Plus and PIAA's. The Morette's do make a difference (and more so on pre MY01) but the PIAA's will give far more range if you use main beam a lot.

You will not be aware of this yet, but there will be a Hella lamp kit available for the 01MY from your Subaru dealer in the next week or so which offers very good value at £195 inc vat.

Your dealer will have the details this week.

Have I misunderstood,I've got PIAA driving lamps and thought they were illegal to use when it was'nt foggy. The few times I have tried to use them every other driver on the road starts flashing me and looking at me like I'm some kind of Max Power wideboy.

ChrisB 07 November 2001 10:27 PM

AFAIK...

Driving lamps - only activated when you go onto main beam with the headlights.

Since you dip when another car approaches (you do, don't you? ;) ) the driving lamps should go off.

David_Wallis 08 November 2001 01:01 PM

come on... we need 10 people.... And the headlights are pretty sh1tty..

The price of £245.00 includes everything needed, including delivery in the UK.
The lights will fit all models including the MY01's.

Mike,

Have spoken to two dealers and one has spoken to the Subaru Accessories section who don't even know about these hella's. Do you have more info. Are they P1 style or are they bigger lamps like the PIAA?

MikeWood 08 November 2001 05:48 PM

Fizz

They are large lamps like the PIAA which completely fill the aperture in the bumper.

Your dealer will have details very soon.

Is that a discounted price? I was quoted the same price, £270-280 for the PIAA kit to fit myself. If you can get a £100 discount on that I will be interested !!!

David_Wallis 15 November 2001 11:50 PM

Anybody?

Jza 16 November 2001 03:12 PM

I'd be interested - but like the others say, £100 off retail isnt that great - most scooby shops are near that already.

If you can get a price under £200 i'd be a definate ;)
