Max EGT temps on 2.5L?

Anyone know whats the max recommended EGT temps on a 2.5L with uprated internals, water injection and 440 bhp?

All pipes including down pipe has wrap so might increase temp readings.

Depends on at least the following:

Fuel
Piston clearance
Location of measurement
Exhaust valves
How long for?
Can the manifold and turbo take it?

I would suggest to stay below 950 C at the collector.

Stay well below that, no more that 900 deg C absolute max if on std valves

At 940 DEG C for more than a few seconds and you stand to loose a valve on an STi 5/6 head.

Cripes, I've had over 900 before and seen 935 ish on top gear run on M5 - will get this sorted asap with Bob so setup spot on. :eek2:

Prolonged WOT with not enough fuel is what kills Scoobs, that and very high charge temperatures from top mount intercoolers, even uprated ones.

Bloody hell, confirms my map isn't good enough for setup at present. Glad I've got an EGT sensor and asked the question (900+ looked very high to me). Wont be booting her again till Bob's done his magic.:(

I've got front mount with auto water spray and water injection - hate think what it would of been like without that!

Ah, found an issue which might of been the cause of EGT temps...an amul valve I have fitted between the waste and solenoid was leaking boost, it was still shut when it should be but a bar + of boost would make it flutter open. Removed and now no boost leak to atmo. This made boost at peak a little on the wild side (spikes).

EGT temps better and not in the danger level...!:D

Shocking news from Bob :notworthy, looks like my car is running lean :( - would explain the misfires etc

Just sorting a few things and will then have remap done for final time at BR :thumb:
