steering squeal/squeak noise??
 

Yesterday my MY98 started making a little squeaky type noise as I was 3 point turning to park. Now I noticed as your driving along if you turn the steering wheel in either direction it makes this noise. You can hear it more obviously when moving slow, ie parking. If you turn the wheel while the car is stationary there is no noise at all so its only when moving, even at slow speed. I've checked power steering level - ok, checked belt tension - seems ok, had a general look around - found nowt??

Any ideas please anyone?
Gotta drive it 80miles round trip now so I hope its nothing serious! :freak3:

add a small amount of fluid.. it my go.. they seem to make noise if slightly below the max..
Hopefully that is all it is.

I'm starting to wonder if its a suspension problem as when going over bumps it seems to make the noise then??

check the alternator belt is tight mine was doing the same thing and thats all it was
