Thanks Puff

Just a quick question. What did you mean by "Track Time 09.00 - 17.00 (with 1 hour break for lunch between 12.00 & 14.00)"

Is that a 2 hour break?

Puff The Magic Wagon! 20 October 2000 02:15 PM

AWD

Sometime between 12.00 & 14.00 there will be a lunch-break (no driving) of 1 hour - Marshall/Instructor nosh time http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Lee 20 October 2000 07:15 PM

Any non SIDC people turning up will be collared by myself and Lisa http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Danny Fisher 20 October 2000 09:14 PM

Lee, is that under punishment of having to hold the little one when you two go for rides!!!!!

Can we spectators park our precious scoobies with all you racer boys, or do we have to leave them in a field somewhere?

Will you be grouping cars together for photo opportunities? If so, count me in for the P1 enclosure. Could I be the only one there with the 18" wheels?

I Look forward to meeting all the other scoobynuts on the day.

Regards
Kurt

simes 20 October 2000 10:42 PM

If I get held up and miss the sign on by 9.00 have I blown it?

(Trying to decide whether to drive down on the morning or say somewhere close, not to good at getting up in the morning so getting there for 7:30 looks difficult).

Cheers

Simon

Puff The Magic Wagon! 20 October 2000 10:44 PM

Kurt

Without checking, I don't see why there is no reason that non-trackers can't park behind the pits. It's normally good for 40+ juggernaughts!

I would vote for that 'cos we'd get a cracking scoob shot from the Race Control balcony http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Puff The Magic Wagon! 20 October 2000 10:48 PM

Simon

Don't know for 100% (help!) but it's your money. It is "from" 07.30 so I'm sure you could still sign on at 08.30...

I'm lazy too, but not when it comes to scamping & having fun http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Mr.Cookie 20 October 2000 10:53 PM

Anybody want to work my kitchen for me http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif i promise you wont need to do much http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

Simon (getting more depressed with each new brands posting)

simes 20 October 2000 11:49 PM

Mr Cookie (Simon)

Plan B...

I think you have a bad illness coming on and can't possibly work...

The cure is, you drive to my place early in the morning, wake me up, I give you breakfast, we go to Brands and I get there in time for sign on, giving you squash tips as we go.

Whadya reckon?

Cheers

Simon

Mr.Cookie 20 October 2000 11:52 PM

Now's the time to start then...

Bound to believe you if you've never done one in 11 years.

Do Brands have any lids knocking around for those passengers without?

Greg

AWD 24 October 2000 09:14 AM

Puff

Thanks for the info.

Gregh

Would you want to trust a well used lid - and possibility of ending up with something like Athlete's head? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Puff The Magic Wagon! 24 October 2000 10:13 AM

Yeah, but they might have those sanitised paper balaclavas, which come top of the fashion parade http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Rick Dyer 24 October 2000 01:11 PM

This is the first time I've taken a set of track wheels to change at the track.
What do I do with my road wheels and tools? Leave them hanging around to be nicked by the same sort of people who took the RB5 at Donnington?
Seriously is there anywhere to store these safely?
Is there somewhere near that sells SUL

Puff The Magic Wagon! 24 October 2000 01:24 PM

Rick

We'll be allowed access to the pits, so maybe in there. Tyres Northampton will be in attendance, so you may not need to bring too much hardware. Suggest a pushbike flexible lock thingy to loop 'em all together maybe - or close a pit for tool & tyre storage for all...

I'm checking into SUL. Brands may have it available, will be letting me know. Alledgedly Texaco stn on the A20 does have it, but also alledgedly doesn't - am looking into it!

2 x 18" I had mine since Sep & i'll be there. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/cool.gif

Super Unleaded.

Definately NOT available from Texaco o/s Brands.

Brands do NOT have Super either, but may open their own petrol pumps for normal unleaded for those that require (saves changing from slicks mid-day http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif )

ptholt 24 October 2000 11:03 PM

Any ideas on the nearest sul garage for us sti drivers puff ?

Rick Dyer 25 October 2000 12:42 AM

Puff

Thanks for the advice, I've got a long bike chain just in case. But closing off one pit may be a good idea for us all for storage, the less clutter and weight in the boot the better - I notice in Johnfelsteads recommendations is to take out the spare.

Thanks for finding out about SUL although I don't absolutely need it I would prefer it.

I hope a tankful is enough. At 8 mpg that means about 6 laps/gallon. Taking into account that at about 1/3 tank you get fuel surge on the tight left handers that means about 50 laps (but then maths never was a strong point)

chuckster 25 October 2000 09:52 AM

For worst case scenario I am filling up at the Thurrock Services (M25/A13 Junction) and driving the 20ish miles to Dono @ under 69 mph. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/eek.gif
Are you guys gonna stop there on way though Puff?
Cheers
Chuck
BTW there is a cool race parts shop in Brands Hatch, more or less opposite the main entrance - get your goodies (race harness etc) there at lunch!

Mulder 25 October 2000 09:56 AM

Don't suppose you lot will still be there at around 4ish?

KimA 25 October 2000 09:56 AM

We're now going on the track on Friday - so excited when I found out yesterday afternoon that I had to be peeled off of the ceiling!!

Couple of questions:

- do we need gloves?

- what's the dress code? Jeans, long sleeved top, trainers okay?

Cheers

Gloves - not required (up to you).
Other attire - nothing specified, so jeans etc OK - That's what I'll be wearing with my special track day top http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif

Mulder

Track time finishes @ 17.00 so yes we will http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
