Was considering getting a set of STI pedals. But I have been warned they are very dangerous 'you catch your foot and end
up in the back of the car in front'. Have any of you experienced this? Would Subaru have fitted the MY01 with aluminium pedals if this were true (and the STIs)? |
Brooks,
Not dangerous as such. Just that if you have wet feet on a pure ally pedal it is more likely to slip off. If you are going to go for ally pedals, I would suggest you get some with rubber pads on the faces. Cheers Ian |
STI pedals have the rubber bits so grip generally is fine - and they look great - didnt stop me going into the back of somebody of course, but thats a different story !
|
It's not our pedals that are the problem - it's our soles (of our wet shoes).
And I'm being serious by the way. Think about it - alloy pedals are only slippy when your shoes are wet underneath before we get into the car |
does teh 'wet soles' system applie with normal rubber pedals?..Ie:-if you were wearing leather soled shoes?
|
Actually it would be the combination of the type of sole and the type of pedal (with water in between) that is to blame for any slips. Uh oh - I'm remembering lessons on coefficients of friction from physics at school. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif |
i hated physic's...do you think it had anything to do with the fact that we called our physic's teacher pappa Smurf?
|
Depends on the reason you called him Papa Smurf. You guys didn't have to take turns playing Smurfette while he said "Who's your Papa Smurf?" or anything like that did you? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif |
