Question about Noble the carmanufacturer
 

#1 Next Year I am planning to buy a new car.

The cars I have in mind is Porsche GT3, 996 Turbo, 997 Carrera S or a Noble.

In Sweden we don´t have Noble on the market so If I want to buy one I have to import one from the UK.

Does anyone here have any experience with Noble? Quality of the cars? Capable to be daily driven? Where can I find used Nobles for sale?

Quite recently someone posted pics of a 911 after a crash, most of the car ripped to pieces but the cockpit shell intact. A few comments were "can you imagine a Noble doing that?". Might be relevant if you're thinking of it as a daily driver.

997 Carrera S for sure. New, great performance, fun but comfortable, safe, reliable, everyday usable 100%.

I drove the Porsche 997 Carrera S last week and it´s a lovely car to drive. But here in Sweden the Porsche is real common. You see it everyday and everywhere.

2 friends of mine bought Porsches recently. A 996 GT3 and a 996 GT2. So the Noble would be a wild card. But I need to get (search) more information about the car. I really love the looks of the Noble M12 GTO 3R, and the handling seems to be awesome on tracks.

Maybe the Porsche is a much better choice but the Noble looks so damn good :-)

Not that I know much about cars, I know the basics which is more than some men I know ! The Noble is my dream car , ever since I saw one in my rear view mirror on the M25, I put the window amd just waited for it too pass ....and my god I am totally hooked on the Noble . but this is just looks alone and sound I have no idea how they are drive , I have only sat in one and that was very recently, which ever car you choose , I hope you enjoy every min of it .

There's a very good reason for that.

My mate used to own one of these, an absolutely awesome car!! Never been in anything like it!!
He used to drive regularly to the nurburgring and I'm pretty sure daily to work.

The only thing I think he had a major issue with was stone chips, i know he regularly got the front and sills repainted, but thats cambridge back roads for you.

I have the same problem with my black STI MY05. The paintjob from the beginning is under a decent level. After this summer I need to repaint the hood and frontbumper of the car.

Hmm, did not see the original posts but the Noble has a very strong chassis and would be fine. All nobles have full space frame chassis with integrated cage... very safe :)

The Noble won Car of the year a few years ago in Top Gear! They reakoned that its the best drivers car out there. They run a Ford V6 engine i believe.
I would personally have one over a Porsche or even a 2nd hand Ferrari!
Porsches are way too common.

I've had an M400 for the last year, and before that I had an M12 GTO3R. I came from the land of scoobies and evos so i hope i can give you a sensible opinion :)

Performance- Monumental, with 408bhp ATW and low weight they do fly. But also very little lag and plenty of off boost torque makes it a pleasure to pootle in too.

Handling- Very communicative, with no electronic corruption. It really doesn't need TC, as the chassis is so benign even in the wet on Corsas!(switchable ABS would be nice tho) I track mine regularly and it is superb on all types of circuit, but with equally monster on road performance.

Ownership experience- Very good overall, with an incredibly helpfull factory and community, I've had a few niggles, but no more than you could expect from any car, and they have all been sorted quickly. I think there are a few owners on the continent, most of the basic servicing can be done by any mechanic, but I think a yearly trip to the factory might be a good idea for overall care.

I use mine daily, main problem is always taking the long way home.

In summary.. It's British, and goes, stops and corners better than most exotica costing twice as much. It is a legendary car :) well maybe i'm a bit biased
