limp home but no fault code

96 WRX import.
Decat, walbro, k+N panel filter, and ScoobyECU

Been running fine for ages, then noticed a boost drop. Subsequently learned it had gone into limp home mode. Cleared ECU...ran OK for a while, then limped itself again. Cleared ECU...similar. Now it is doing it every journey. Will be OK for a few accelerations past 0.5 bar, then you can feel it suddenly drop off under an acceleration and go into limp again.

Did an ecu fault code check...just a flashing OK CEL and no codes.

Cleaned up probe on MAF. Blew out a few pipes.

So what is the common place to go to next? There is no misfire or anything. Stumped!

Help me out.....this likely to be my MAF?

Speedo cable? the ecu goes into limp if a proper signal isn't had from it- would have thought it would show as an error code though?

Dont think its the cable in that all looks well on inspection and it seems to be reading ok.

Any ideas where to look next?

Resorting to hitting things now...just can't seem to see anything thats faulty. Do I take it to an auto-electricians???

Does anyone know if fitting a scoobyecu stops the check code system from working....and any more ideas on why it's going in to limp

Physsol 13 July 2006 01:42 PM

Cleaned up everything again. Reset. lasted a couple of days. Then kicked back into limp mode on a high gear acceleration full boost...wasn't misbehaving etc, just kicked in to limp???

Got to be a likely culprit....need help.

Anyone recommend a diagnostics/garage near Kings Lynn Norfolk
