Not sure about imports but a UK car has a rocker switch on top of the steering column which puts side lights on for parking.

that is how it should be every uk impreza is exactly the same. the mot book only states that the light emitted from side lights should only be white or yellow it doesn't say that they have to work with ignition on. my advice is to take it to a tester who is competant

Scoobyboy

Does that mean that the Blue Vision sidelight bulbs from Powerbulbs would technically mean an MOT fail?

big den providing these lights are a whitish blue you'll probably be ok depending on what mood the examiner is in . i myself wouldn't fail a car for having them in.
