Switching ALK and standard mounts

Guys,

Currently I have the Scoobymania ALK on my classic. I'm trying to diagnose the source of a clicking/clonking type sound and want to try putting my standard wishbone mounts back on to see if the noise goes away.

To change the mounts, do I just jack up the car, undo the 2 bolts which hold each mount in place, and refit the standard ones? Is there anything to be careful of?

Thanks :)

David

Not quite right.
The mounts are bolted onto the end of the wishbones. you need to remove the 2 large bolts that you can see, and remove the large nut off the wishbone. The ALK will then slide off the W'bone and you can put the stock fulcrum back on to experiment.

Thanks. It sounds straight forward.

can that sound be the front drop links? I had to replace mines due to a similar problem...

Good point from Carlos above.

I had a vibration on the steering wheel when turning hard, thought was a bushing or transmission... raised the car about 1 inch and it's ok... probably rubbed some where and cause that vibration...

Had the car in at Powerstation to get the geometry done. Knackered droplink replaced with whiteline ones. Clonking fixed.

Thanks guys.
