Intel Conroe CPU - when is it avail to buy ?
 

Anyone know when they'll hit the streets ?

Need a new dual core CPU soon, and this seems to be the obious choice.

July is dub'd as the release date... but rumour mill seems to imply DELL and other big OEMs could cobble the first lot - leaving the etailers out in the cold until August...

I believe engineering samples are kicking around on Ebay.

I noticed Overclockers.co.uk now list Conroe compatible motherboards as well.

Conroe and Merom look very good products. I intend to build my next PC around one of them. I've always been an AMD fan but the new AM2 socket doesn't seem to offer much right now
