i just found out that willwood supplies brakes for the nascar and indy cars. they must be really good, then. how are they compared to alcon or ap? are they really as light as they claim to be?

cheers.

Willwood, in my opinion, are not as good as AP or Brembo. They use smaller pistons and don't seem to be as well built as the others. If you fancy a kit of AP standard and performance, for a fraction of the price, have a look at the Group Buy post! :D

Cheers,

Be careful when looking at these,
The standard (ie cheaper) ones are made from cast ally and flex like hell when used in anger.
The more expensive ones are made from billet ally and in my experience are pretty good used on Group4 Escort till I could afford AP Monte Carlo's.
Overall AP are by far superior and are easy to source parts, pads and more importantly expertise in correctly specifying the callipers, disks, bells etc for the application.
You wont find this from your Willwood supplier.
Talk to BG Developments in Redditch, Ask them what they think of Willwood !!.

Hope this helps
Ade
BTW no connection with BG, Just a satisfied customer.

Tim, speak to Geoff at Hi-Spec. They can supply the wilwood caliper.

They are now a lot stronger than before, Wilwood re-designed them.

They can also do AP, Brembo or their own calipers.
