Once the brakes have heated up enough to go soggy the fluid is pretty dead. You need to bleed some off to regain the good pedal feel.
I had the same probs, so got Alcons, they are fantastic, I think only the Brembo's give as good a pedal feedback, though the AP 6 pots *may* ultimately have more stopping power...I doubt without slicks and heavily upgraded suspension you would be able to capitalise on it though.
Get whichever is cheaper/looks better in your opinion.

Standard 4 pot calipers, DS2000 on the front only, braided hoses and Dot 5 brake fluid, after a blast through the lanes and a few reasonably hard braking exercises the brake pedal softens and the biting point drops so more pedal travel etc, next day brakes remain softer, so whats going on (heat problems i presume)...........I feel an upgrade will be recommended by those in the know with cash to burn, so what is the best set up for 'enthusiastic' road use, can I justify AP 6 pots or should I go for Brembo 4 pots or even the prodrive alcons, grooved discs only but whats the max size the behind 17" OZ Alloys. Don't think I want Ferrodo DS3000 pads so which would be best?
Maybe the guys at Godspeed, TSL, etc etc can give me the best set up - this might get expensive..............

Got the Alcon upgrade on my P1 - fantastic, although a bit pricey.

I'm going for the braided hoses next.

P1dog i had the same problem with my p1 brakes iam never going to do track days just good hard road driving so i did'nt won't to splash out nearly £2000 on a set of ap's which iam sure are very good but a bit over the top for road use on road tyres,so i went for the Goodspeed 335mm kit which have made a huge differance with no brake fade and better stopping from high speed and only cost about £500 all in.Hope this helps.

I have a P1 and I am too suffering the same problem. Unfortunately, I can't afford, neither do I want to spend close to £2000 on a decent brake setup, so I did some investigating. I have found a setup of similar design to the AP, but of better quality and performance for a fraction of the price. I have sorted an unbelievable price for a group buy!!
