Dell motherboards in non dell machines ?

Hi peeps

i have a dell dimension 4400 that has a broken case. I am tempted to buy a new case but im not sure it will fit into a standard tower case. Anyone ever tried this ?

Don't think it'll fit, why not just buy a new case

I think Dell Boards are tailor made for the chasis.

Indeed they are ( or used to be anyway )

not all are tailored the newer ones arent as much as the old.

However a new board wont always fit properly as the holes arent in the right place for different boards, might only be a few mm's but this will stop any pci cards fitting correctly. I've swapped a few and just used the plastic feet type mounts which you can silicone to the case!
