EcoTek remap and Exhaust
 

Guys, ordering a CAT replacement up pipe, CAT removal centre section and K&N filter. I will then get a EcuTek remap. I am driving a 05 WRX and was wondering if anyone had similar work done and could advise of possible power increases.

Any help appreciated.

I generally see between 265 and 280bhp from these depending on the method of boost control....Adding a 3 port solenoid or aftermarket boost controller is beneficial...I have just finished one with headers , front mount and Sti injectors and seen 300bhp and 300lbft of torque @ 1bar on the standard turbo...

how much is the 3 post solenoid? and injectors?

i've just had my turbo go on my 02 wrx, an was going to get a vf35 turbo put on because i thoght i needed to get something bigger than my TD04 to get 300bhp.

in the end i got another td04 because i was strongly advised against getting a bigger turbo because of reliabilty issues etc.

you could have had any of the TD series turbos and kept the same reliability as a TD04,
you wont get over 300 with this turbo unless it's a modified one and Andy Forrest is prob doing the best modified one about at the mo, it will reach around 320bhp with supporting mods,
bigger turbos don't always mean you will lose reliability, it depends on what else you do to support it, just changing the turbo on it's own will almost certainly cause you problems, but with a remap, walbro or similar, decat (full or partial) and regular servicing as you normally would you shouldn't really have a problem, it also depends on who you get to do the work if you dont do it yourself, mapping is critical, mechanically get someone competant and not a cheap back street monkey!

i've got a full decat on mine at the mo, including up-pipe.green panel filter.

i'm going to get it remapped soon, an get a walbro in there too.

do you know the best/cheapest place to get a 3 port solenoid?
hate to sound really really stupid, but what does it do? i've alot of people get it when they remap.

it would be best to speak to who your going to get it mapped by, (I'd recommend Bob Rawle for ECOTEK)
A 3 port solenoid is a more accurate way of controling boost via the ECU, later cars only have a 2 port solenoid i believe
