Hi,

I'm trying to sell my MY99 subaru impreza Turbo.. Its a uk model with, leather, aircon, full stainless system, blitz induction,17inch wheels, FSSH, 53k on the clock, still under warranty, A1 inside and out..

On what car the evaluation says it's worth 9K.. It has to be worth more that that!! I was excpecting around the 13K Mrk!!

Advice pls,

Pete

£9k sounds awfully low for a clean MY99.

Have you asked a dealer for a cash offer?

Somone was offered £10k for their MY95 [McRae] recently - albeit as a trade in against a £25k P1.

Hope you get a decent price for it.

PS. I am thinking about getting out of my 2 yr old, 25k miles Dutch imported MY00 4dr DBM (standard other than up-rated front brakes) and was kind of hoping that I wouldn't lose much more than 25% - of the price I paid for it ;-)

S or T, 4 or 5dr? My m8 tells me for a 4dr T the good book says 12 9 retail, 10 9 trade or thereabouts (you're loosing a wedge because of the mileage). Add 200 apiece for the air con and leather.

the what car valuation is based on you selling it to a dealer, so it will be low, also it doesn't allow for any extra's.

It should be worth £12500 ish private sale, but market is very slow at the moment. Nothing selling.

I'm trying to sell my MY99 5 door, no mods, with 33K for 13K ish but no luck so far.

Dealer should give you £10500 - 11000 ish if its in good nick.

I agree with Greenys valuation. Values have been hit hard by the number of EU import brought in. Gone are the days when you had to wait 6 months + for a Scoob.

Have you tried any main dealers? When I sold my 2.5 year old mint MY97 I tried phoning round a load of dealers. Many wouldn't bid and only a handful offered anything like a decent price.

The market might be dead but they are still keen buyers out there. Someone knocked on the window of my MY00 the other day and was absolutely desperate to buy my car! It turned out the chap had recently written off his Scoob and had been looking several weeks for a replacement.

Good luck with the sale,

Cheers,

Ian.

P.S. it might be worth trying www.well-lane.co.uk if you do decide to sell it direct to a dealer.
