Interesting Cold Lunch Food?
A colleague at work has been taken Asian cooking lessons at college and yesterday bought in some cold cauliflower pickle. Ace it was, lovely and spicy. Put me right off my bland Cheese and Pickle sarnies.
It would be great to make similar for my lunch, so what interesting cold foods do you have for lunch (i.e. not sarnies), bearing in mind I don't have access to a fridge or microwave at work? Suggestions and recipes please! :D |
I sometimes go down the shops and buy some strange Polish stewed strawberries or some stuffed olives.

Pasta pots from ASDA!
|
I sometimes have cous cous with a tin of mixed bean salad, celery, tomato and a tin of tuna fish all mixed together with a splash of salad dressing.
Dunno how hungry you get but it's enough for 2 days or sometimes I take it all and have it for lunch and tea. |
cold cheese burgers are nice from maccies lmao :)

There was a thread a long time ago about alternatives to sarnies. Do a search.
Me, I have chicken salad sandwiches, beef and salad sandwiches or tuna with small diced cucumber and red pepper with mayo. It's not the most intresting but it saves me at least £15 per week and I make them whilst making the dinner in the evening so I don't have to make them in the morning. Darren |
pizza from the night before when youve been on the pi$$ mmmmmmmmm

Pork Pie with HP brown sauce. :thud:

its not as smelly as you think, the cheese seems to counteract the eggy farts afforded by the erm....eggs :D
I roasted up a partridge the other week that had been in cryo-strorage for about 2 years, chopped it up and had it on my sarnies. Nobody wanted to be in the same building, let alone sit next to :D |

Boil pasta, add baked beans & tin of tuna. Eat hot or cold for lunch the next day. THE key is salt & some HP sauce on it.
