Fuel after a remap...

Had my MY03 WRX remapped and decatted with BP Ultimate a couple of weeks ago. Just wondered if I can run the car on regular unleaded if I get really stuck. Obviously I couldn't use a lot of boost, but would I be OK in an emergency? Or is it a complete no no?

you should be ok but dont floor it and use what you mapped it for.

so yes it would be ok in a emergency

I would keep a bottle of Octane booster in the car for situations like this.

I wouldn't recommend running a car thats been mapped for super on 95ron,
but with booster it should be sound.

I take it was an ecutek remap??
If so wont that compensate anyway if it detects bad fuel??? sure they will retard the timing if it detects knock and then keeps advancing it again.
Best speak with your mapper who will confirm anyway

I had my MY99 mapped by Andy F to run on Optimax - he told me it would be ok on normal super unleaded as long as did not run on high boost for sustained periods in the higher gears. i.e. dont go battering it down the motorway at 140mph if your octane is lower.

probably would be fine but why worry as said buy a couple of bottles of millers booster not messy like NF ( may be not as good but more confinient) and you can store where the jack goes

if you have a knocklink you can decide for your self :)
