Guages?

Hi,

I'm thinking of ditching the double din head unit and investing in a decent single din one. Are there any guages that would fit under the stereo as I think the 3 guage pod on the dash is a bit ott.

If possible I'd like at least a boost guage and an oil pressure guage.

Anyone attempted anything like this? If so where did you get the bits and how much were they?

BTW I have an 04 Wagon.

Cheers
Nige

Have a trawl through Demon-tweeks they have a good selection of gauges and I have seen plates for three gauges.

This is what i have just installed in my WRX. The whole lot was just over a £100 including the gauge mount. Or my main site www.wrx-carpc.co.uk then follow the photo link.

I got the gauges from www.gaugeplace.co.uk

Hope this helps,

Steve

Cheers peeps,

the guage place looks good.

Is it any easy DIY job to fit a boost gauge, oil pressure gauge and say, voltmeter?

I'm reasonably handy fitting things but electrics are a bit of a mystery!

If I bought the gauges would I need anything else - I see most come with senders?

And it still says guages? Sorry couldn't resist, must be one of the easiest words to spell wrong:)

Each of the Gauges from GaugePlace comes with there own sender unit and necessary wires etc.

The Boots Gauge comes with the sender, T Piece and all pipes etc.

For the Oil Pressure your best bet is to also get a sandwich plate. This goes inbetween the sump and the oil filter and it is this the sender unit attaches too.

If you are mechanically minded, they are easy enough to fit. As for the electronics of them, each of the sender units only really 2 wires, ground and signal. Also the gauges themselves just connect to a IGN line. So when you turn the key, they turn on.

Nick Gilchrist from GaugePlace is very helpful if you have any questions.

These are the range of Gauges i went for http://domain887009.sites.fasthosts....iewCat&catId=4 and this is the sandwich plate http://domain887009.sites.fasthosts....d&productId=29

Hope this helps,

Steve

Chelspeed,

Tissy,

Nice gauges - would fit in well with my interior.

Thanks.

They are nice Gauges and the 'A' pillar pod housing sets it off nicely. Its an exact match to the old one. Although the pod housing is apparently easy to fit, it was a bit of a pig. So if you do get one, give me a shout and i'll tell you how i got it secure.

Good luck,

Steve
