What do i need to do before a rolling road day?
Im going for my first rolling road day, and wondered if theres anything worth while checking before i go. (i'll make sure all the fluids are topped up)

enough fuel ha ha - seriously just put decent fuel in (Optimax) make sure your car is running ok - no clutch slip etc. they normally do 2-3 runs and hold max revs in fourth for only a few seconds.
You will probably have to sign a disclaimer saying if your engine blows - tough luck. Thats how it is. |
Add to above, oil change and correct tyre pressures.
And something to calm your nerves before, during and after.... Good luck, and good results to you. Graham |
make sure you have octane booster plus optimax in??
your 2nd run will more than likely have the higher power figure, depending were you go for rr day they will test most things on your car before putting it on rollers anyway they will check for knock activity for det etc etc make sure you dont have low mudflaps on or they may not let you on rollers |
to be honest use what ever you use on the road - why pay for a roaling road test to check for det fueling etc but you have just gone and changed everything ??????
I would just check the tyre pressures as this can make a difference |
Agree with wrx rich, put in the fuel you normally use so that your figures reflect the usual performance of the car.
Why bother putting in octane booster and getting an unrealistically high output? :wonder: |

Ditto the fuel comments.
I usually just cover basic road worthiness checks, most of which is mentioned above. Personally i wouldn't bother with an oil change unless it was due it. Just check the oil/coolant levels, tyre pressures and do a general sweep for leaks (inc. shocks/brakes). |

Why bother putting in octane booster and getting an unrealistically high output? :wonder: i was assumeing it was a import and was run on ob anyway, as its commen knowledge that jap cars are designed to run on 100 run over there and need mapping once here or running as close as possible to 100 ron. |
its uk spec, and i skint myself every week running it on optimax! i was going to change the oil just before hand, as i have a sandwich plate to fit for my gauges, i'll give it a week or so before hand to make sure the new oil is fully coating everything and not too thin.
Thanks for your help. Andy |
