Exhaust and decat

I have recently had my engine rebuilt by Api and serviced at 1000 by Paul Stabler. I am now a further 800 miles on.

I am getting a scoobysport backbox and have a TSL 2nd decat and resonator pipe.

Just wondering if it will be OK to fit the system? David at Api said that the engine will be running lean to start with. I want to get the car to Andy F for a remap but cannot afford it for a few months.

Can I run the system without the remap with out damaging anything?

Cheers

What car have you got mate? For the sake of a few months wouldn't you be just better being patient and sticking the system on just prior to your mapping session with Andy?

Follow David's advice mate, he built the engine after all. :)

Go for a complete decat if you want power.
As the ECU is generally on the rich side, a decat exhaust is generally not a problem. If it were a problem, which is unlikely, you could run it off boost or on mild boost until it was remapped.
To know for sure, you need to have your AFRs checked with a wide band lambda and I am happy to do that for you if you make arrangements through Paul.
It will take 20 minutes with a drive up the A68 and you can buy me a beer.
