ESC Exit from Scooby shootout -:(

I Recieved this today :(

Hi Tiny

Regarding the event.....

I had a complaint that was made from local residents, concernig several Subaru's being driven by people in pink shirts tear arsing down the lanes coming out of Elvington on Sunday. As you may appreciate, these kinds of complaints hinder us for future events as this has been reported to the council so could get quite serious for our event at that location. I dont know the facts and havent posted anything about this on the forums, but can you have a word with your crew.

I appreciate what can happen, but it doesnt help us in the long term so would appreciate your support on this.

Many thanks,

Shaun

1. Im 100% Sure that this was not us ( Well me anyway & the other 10 Cars following me )

2. We left & it was pissing it down with rain

3. I Was leading , Unsure of the way , Listening to the Sat nav , Talking about Lunch on the walkie talkies

4. Was driving well within the speed limits , Probably a bit less reffering to points 2-3

5. Im well pissed of to get complaints from the organiser about this tbh , The 1st real complaint in 3 years

6. Surely it cannot of been us !! But the Pink shirts points the finger @ us though :(

Anyone else got any thought's ????

I Have replied listing also the points that i have made above , But looks like we are to blame anyway :(

Tiny :( :( :(

Cornelius 26 May 2006 04:51 PM

What a load of crap,

for starters, anyone ragging it in that rain must be suicidal!!

also, we were keeping things slow to allow the convoy to regroup after coming out of the junction

Phil 26 May 2006 04:51 PM

I would guess that they have ASSUMED you were tearing it up because of the Loud exhausts that is the Norm in Essex

You guys have always behaved perfectly at all the events I have been to

Tiny 26 May 2006 05:03 PM

Im fcuking going mad @ Recieving this to be honest

Makes it even worse coming from Shaun as well !!!

But i guess that he is only going on what others are saying !!

We left so slow it was untrue , Not once i would say we ragged it & Yes you are correct i did pull over so we could re group

3 Years been building the ESC Up & to what i feel now is one of the best if not THE BEST Regional organisation of the SIDC

& We get slatted for tear arsing around , Up north on another groups patch :(

Tiny :(

pjhsid 26 May 2006 05:20 PM

Could be sabotage?

Anyone you've upset recently?

It will be so easy to send "There was an idiot in pink driving like a plonker". Points the finger direct at The ESC.

Could you really see the pink inside a "pimped" car anyway?

Cornelius 26 May 2006 05:21 PM

Also, STI-CKI was moaning at Wilf cos he wasn't driving FAST enough!! mind you, that was on the A1(M);)

kin quick 26 May 2006 05:30 PM

Sound's like someone is taking the mickey to me Dal, I was at the back (no suprise there then) with Sara and Bub's behind me, we were'nt too sure where you lot had gone so was driving slowly just incase we were going the wrong way (plus I was 4-up and wasn't going to muck about with all the extra weight in the car & Bub's was driving exactly the same).

Didnt see anyone driving silly/stupid on the way back until we were miles down the A1 and nowhere near York!!

Don't take it too personally Tiny, it deffinately wasn't us lot, just some local's having the hump with the loud exhausts!

WRX_Dazza 26 May 2006 05:31 PM

oh dear, what can i say :(
having said that, it only takes one "noise polluter" in a pink shirt to raise the attention of passers by, and unfortunately, another 20 pink shirts in tow!!!

seems harsh.

they want to go dowm Maccdy d's and see the chavs in their uninsured halford-mobiles if they really want to complain!!!

sad news and i for one am very shocked!!!!

might ask for me £5 back now :)

onwards to Brighton is what i say!!!!

Guys,

I appreciate your emotions, and what ever were the facts (I am sure nothing ontoward was going on) I hope you appreciate our position as organisers.

I didnt and don't want to make a big thing about it, hence the PM to Tiny off-line as it didnt warrant anything on the forum (I just thought it could be bought up at your next local meet).

Anyway.... thanks for your attendance and support. :)

Regards,
Shaun.

frayz 26 May 2006 05:42 PM

TBH im limited as to what i can say here as i didnt attend,

However,

Ive been to heaps of ESC meets and we are very much a family orientated group of people. Even at local events ive never EVER once seen an ESC member driving like an arse....

Put simply Tiny wont tolerate it!!!

Most of these people had kids/ family in the car!!

I appreciate fully the position of the organisers and Shaun has to be seen to be saying something but TBH i think this is a load of arse from other reigons and an excuse to knock the ESC.

Nate 26 May 2006 05:49 PM

As said above, I reckon it's a local hearing noisy zorsts and seeing pink shirts (thats why I don't have a pink one, don't want to be tarred with the same brush as you naughty lot ;) ) .

Have had old grannies shouting at me to slow down before when doing 15-29 mpd down a road with speed humps ...... So reckon it was the noise of the zorst that gave them the idea you were speeding ......... And bet the person complaing had silver hair :D .

Well not for a year at least:norty: :p :norty:

Joking aside Tiny, if you say it wasnt so thats good enough for me and should be good enough for all concerned.:thumb:

Alas a loud popping zorst is enough to send certain peeps into orbit but that doesnt mean anyone is ragging the arse out of their car in the rain does it?

kin quick 26 May 2006 06:04 PM

I reckon it's absolute tripe to be honest, do you remember how many other Scoob's were leaving at the exact same time!! We saw loads all the way onto the A1 due to the rain most people left just after lunch.

The only person I saw "ragging it" was a chavv'ed up Vectra with really gay Lexus lights!!!!

I was too tired to arse about, and I left on my own :)

Im sure its an overreaction to the noise, these cars do sound like they are going a lot faster than they are. :(

jonjo 26 May 2006 06:52 PM

The only arsehole on that day who was driving like a pillock was...ME!! :D

But I'd payed to do so!! (poofter launches and all that :lol1: )

Never been to an ESC event where the driving has been un-tolerable.....and I doubt this was one either....:(

errrrrrrrrrrrrrr the ESC Bling Summer polos, as designed by G.Smurf, are not pink! They are rasberry! This subtle but important difference should be noted by all. Pah!! A bling shirt that is just plain old 'pink!' :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: Ish don't think so!

Gangsta out! :p

Phil 26 May 2006 09:47 PM

old people in little villages with labradors and caravans who like walking through boring countryside generally get put out when somebody under age 75 moves into the area. let alone hundreds of fat boy scoobys coming for a meet.

Wouldn't worry about it too much. the boring ass residents in southend have been complaining for a quarter of a century that the saturday night car night should be banned. That got them far!!!

If it was going fast and raining how did the bell ends who complained manage to pick out so much detail about the driver.

these people should all get lives. 85 years ago they were doing the same bloody thing in there triamph T-50s or whatever rude boy car was the in thing of the time.
