ebc load of crap

brake judder from new hardly used abc brakes, spoke to technical chap at ebc,he thinks that the disc was put on wrong and that its worn uneven and will only get worse,i rubbed both sides down before fitting ,now if that was the case both sides would do it as i put them on the same,
12 month warnty load of crap
should be how many miles

thanks matt

Are they grooved, if so did you fit them around the right way??

I have nothing but praise for EBC, when matching discs and pads are used they are superb!

i tied my own school shoes when i was little so i think i know my left from my right,or is that right from left
they do stop you ,but it feels dangers and i dont drive like a tit so there must be something wrong somewhere

Perhaps you didn't bed them in correctly? Did you clean all the protective grease off them with meths? Did you clean the hubs meticulously? What pads are you using?

cleaned hubs , and calipers, the pads come with a wearing in layer on them did just the same on drives side no probs there,
pads are red stuff ceramic which i think are good if only the juddering was not involved

Are you sure its the discs/pads, have you checked the calipers havent come loose or even the wheel bolts or even worn track rod ends?

sti 360 26 May 2006 01:38 PM

have taken the caliper apart, the bolts are tight, not so sure about the rods ,what are they going to do

If you have play in the track rods you get judder under-braking.

sti 360 26 May 2006 05:56 PM

what are the track rods and how do i know if they have slack

Have heard of this, exactly the same thing with the Godspeed big break kit and red stuff pads, the issue turned out to be the pads leaving bits of residue on the disc surface which were causing judder under breaking. The chap in question changed to DS 2500 pads, and problem was resolved
Was posted on here quite a while ago, try doing a search on godspeed and you should find it.
Cheers

The ball joints on the end of your steering rack that attach to the hubs.

You sure you put the discs on round the right way? ;)
