NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Thats what a Forrester turbo is for not an Impreza turbo (for all you non-enthusiasts the Forrester turbo won the best towing car last year?? from the caravan association or something like that).

Tony:)

cookstar 25 May 2006 11:49 PM

StudentScooby 25 May 2006 11:54 PM

bhp or kph?

You may or may not have seen some attempts to get up to that sort of speed with a caravan using the RC developments Evo on top gear - didn't make it to 140mph despite having a slight 4-500bhp more than a PPP (although it was hampered slightly by a major engine failure ;))

leonpoole 26 May 2006 12:10 AM

I wonder what it would do a 1/4 mile in

The evo your talking about is norris designs evo mate. Not RC developments. Is a proper beast and for once it wasn't norris driving it. Apparently the bloke completly ignored all the warning lights and carried on instead of backing off the throttle!!

Does it matter? ;)
That car has had more engine rebuilds than all of the P1's put together :lol1:

Wild guess! but on a runway i'd sure have a go! so 120 possible? My ford connect goes to 110..

AVI-8 26 May 2006 12:47 AM

I think a caravan suits the 5dr.

leonpoole 26 May 2006 01:14 AM

Wonder what oil they use?........................ :norty:

captain ted 26 May 2006 06:35 PM

Do you think a dump valve and a cocklink would give me more torque?

That was the biggest caravan we could get due to the manufacturer's weight limit.

Ted.

ford escort cossie pulled a caravan at 136 mph and a was a world record at that time, about 6 years ago

doge77 26 May 2006 06:43 PM

Daniel-S 26 May 2006 06:46 PM

yeah there new one is even better

scoobydooooo 26 May 2006 07:36 PM

caravan owners should all be shot !!

s70rjw 26 May 2006 08:37 PM

Motoring equivalent of Melissa Theurieu in baggy dungarees

Steve vRS 26 May 2006 09:01 PM

For the price of a caravan you can get a lot of hotel rooms.

And get there quicker!

There's a great story on the Lotus 7 Club Forums about one member of the L7 Club who was driving home in his scooby one night and he happened to pull up at some traffic lights alongside a Maxed-up Saxo. 'Saxo Dazza' shot away from the lights hoping to claim a major scalp, but wasn't too impressed when the Scooby kept up with him and slowly pulled out a lead............

Especiallly when he saw the Lotus 7 on a trailer behind it:)

I never towed with mine, but I'm told they're great tow cars (...don't flame me!) but I'd shudder to think what it does to the fuel consumption.

old boy 26 May 2006 09:06 PM

dont you think the wagon looks at home tho!!!

captain ted 27 May 2006 06:09 PM

Fuel consumpion is only a few miles less to the tank due to an easy right foot!

The Scoob is a great towcar and very sure footed too.

All those who say they don't like caravans should try it and stop listening to Jeremy Clarkson!

Ted.

I went shed dragging once for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it, one of the best holidays I had ever been on..

Would recommend cloud farm in oare (exmoor) to anyone wanting the most picturesque campsite in Devon :thumb:

gubby 27 May 2006 11:19 PM

Ah! so thats what mine will look like. :) Except the van is a little older and the scooby a little newer.

Any idea how much a towbar with twin electrics will cost?

captain ted 28 May 2006 05:58 PM

I think we paid around £300 for a removable towbar.

Ted.
