John Felstead LIVE! @ Scoobynet Live!

John has been known to do things his own determined way and is obviously convinced that going through the timing lights backwards ( ) is the way to get the best score...

As today is NOT the first time @ Elvington that he has tried the technique as demonstrated below!

johnfelstead 21 May 2006 11:34 PM

Thanks. :) Had i known there was a battery behind that lot i might have changed my mind on the commitment level out of that corner. :D

flat4 21 May 2006 11:35 PM

looks all too familiar :D

Dill_typeR 21 May 2006 11:43 PM

Wot a treat;)

pslewis 21 May 2006 11:47 PM

I could spin my old Capri like that ............ I can't seem to manage it in a 4 wheel drive modern jap car thats set-up properly, however :D :D

Seems I'm even better than I thought I was ;)

Pete ;)

johnfelstead 21 May 2006 11:51 PM

It's the gold wheels that did it. :D

Yes, indeed, they do spin out quicker ...... was it not due to HeatSoak ... or maybe a MAF Failure?? ;)

I am, actually, surprised that your CockLink didn't flash RED to warn you .... they are supposed to stop all evils ;)

It's a damned good job an old experienced hand like me doesn't attend these kiddie games ........... you would see some REAL driving!!

Imagine an old chappie - used to driving rear wheel drive 1970's machines on cross-ply tyres and still living - in a modern japanese 4 wheel drive with this aid and that aid and set-up with the power of laptops and det.cans.?????

What a sight to behold .......... would show you kids something! :D

Pete

I dont have anything extra over stock other than a boost gauge in my car Pete. Even the Gold wheels are OEM stock with stock sized tyres, brakes etc.

You should come show us how to do it, you would have a laugh, which is what us doers have every time we have a go. :D

JackClark 22 May 2006 12:08 AM

"doers" I love that word. Well done you lot, looked like a lot of fun, not in the least bit jealous me.

Fuzz 22 May 2006 12:10 AM

Are you welsh Jack ;)
The guy must be some sort of Superstar... :D

Andy

chiark 22 May 2006 08:01 AM

Superb :D

pete, we can only imagine what you'd be like....

StickyMicky 22 May 2006 08:27 AM

pslewis 22 May 2006 08:46 AM

Well, I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves ......

I'm just surprised that anyone span or came a cropper ... these cars are dead easy to drive!! :D

John ..... glad to see that all you have is a boost gauge - didn't have you down as a CockLink user actually! ;)

Pete :D

Nice sideways action, i had some nice tail out bits too but at the other end of the circuit on the big sweeping right hander.

flynnstudio 22 May 2006 09:57 AM

Friend I was with caught that little beauty as well as a few others on video camera - we were stood right in front of that spot!...as well as that a red wagon did a spectacular spin and a silver classic some amazing 'courageous' powerslides.

Hats off to those driving - There was a some seriously large pools of standing water on that handling course in the afternoon.

That red wagon was P20SPD :)

Dill_typeR 22 May 2006 11:25 AM

There were a couple of strangely placed cones on the inside, near the top of 'the loop' part of the circuit that caught a few people out too:)

And coming into the stop box, i was sure i was gonna slide with no ABS and 888's on, but.....no problems:p

And if I'm not mistaken the powersliding silver classic was Big John (aka Colby)

John,

No good wiping the timing equipment out, just because you were off the pace! :D

Regards,
Shaun.

At least he was off the pace and not his driver :D:D:D

Terry,

:D

At least I have one claim to fame..... even if it's for *just* owning the car that won! ;) :D

johnfelstead 22 May 2006 06:59 PM

LOL @ Shaun.

I was quite happy with my times in the wet, i should have gone a bit quicker in the dry, one problem was i couldnt stop the car so ended up braking before the timing beam on my dry run as the tyres were ****, decent rubber would have helped knock a couple of seconds off.

I had a great laugh though, i was very disapointed you didnt drive at all during the day after all the pre-event banter. Chicken. :p :D

It's very noticable how things have moved on since TOTB1 when i was fastest scoob and set 4th fastest overall in a similar spec car, which is great to see. Steven should have quite a dificult decision choosing the TOTB team this year.

ex-webby 22 May 2006 07:57 PM

John,

Now now :D. I had all intentions in actually going out (did you see the cardboard on my number plate, which was covering up MY number). Due to the heavens opening though, it was pointless as I knew I wouldnt get any decent times...... and lets be honest, you dont really want to make yourself look a tit do you (like you did) :D :D :D

I knew I would do **** in the wet..... at least i'm honest! ;) :D

At the end of the day, it doesnt matter who won (lol) it's who helps to keep the Evo's at bay @ TOTB that counts!! :D

Regards,
Shaun.
