Connecting DV Camera to Laptop problems!!
OK, got an HP Pavilion dv8000 and a Panasonic DV camcorder (NV-GS4)
I'm having difficulty connecting the camcorder to the laptop. Windows usually makes a sound when it recognises a piece of hardware connecting to the laptop. I've tried to connect the camcorder using a firewire and there is no sound at all, I can't seem to see where to transfer or look at the video on the laptop. I then tried to connect the camcorder using a USB2 connection. Windows does make the sound but a bubble appears in the left hand corner 'device not recognised'. I've tried looking for drivers and have contacted Panasonic. They said it should be plug and play. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! |
Make sure you have the camera turned on and in VCR/Playback mode, Windows Movie Maker should pick up the camera.

I open Windows movie make and try to 'capture from video device' Warning window appears - 'A video capture device is not detected' Checked firewire connection through device manager. Nothing listed under firewire!!!!!! HELP!!!!! |

Nothing listed under firewire!!!!!! HELP!!!!! If DISABLED, then change to 'ENABLE' Save and exit the BIOS and Windows will then detect and install the Firewire port. |
