where to buy a cheapish suit?

I've been shanghai'ed into two weddings in about a month ( ) and need one, pronto, and cheapish! don't want to look like Paul Calf or Graham Norton. Any suggestions?

can you wear black suit/ white shirt to weddings ? I wanna look "gangsta" :thumb:

Bubba po 20 May 2006 07:53 PM

Don't ask me... I always look like I've been dressed by committee. :D

ALi-B 20 May 2006 07:55 PM

They're doing some quite snappy suits in Next for around £130

Some are a pretty good cut and fit for a cheap suit too :)

(ooh, and make sure the cashire give you a proper suit holdor...not a naff platic bag one, they may fob you off, but they do have them ;))

Chip Sengravy 20 May 2006 07:56 PM

I didn't ;)

If I want to look like the b@stard lovechild of dennis the menace & the pulp fiction gimp, I'll pose the question in muppets :thumb:

Miss Kinky 20 May 2006 07:56 PM

Asda and Tesco do them for about £30 I believe....

cheers! :thumb:

a good fit depends on the individual. are they shaped around overweight salesman on a budget, or buff builders with cash to splash?

Petem95 20 May 2006 07:58 PM

Go to House of Fraiser when they have a sale on - you can pick up a very smart one for about £200 or less.

I always think its silly to spend £130 on a ok one, when if youre spending that much you may as well spend a little extra and get something really nice!

Not sure if they have a HoF at the Trafford Centre, but theres a good Selfridges there, so that might be worth a look :)

ALi-B 20 May 2006 08:04 PM

They're more suited to a short arse with a mild beer belly :D

The Jeff Banks stuff at Debenhams isn't bad, but more money, fit isn't any better, and they do have Grayham Norton coloured silk linings.

Seeing me in a suit is as common as the second comming. Although a collegue deviously snapped me in one a few weeks back at w*rk leaving me open to public ridicule

Lee247 20 May 2006 08:05 PM

Well, if money is no object, get yourself a Hugo Boss :thumb:
