funny noise when using full lock??????

(97 STI 3 ) When i put my stearing lock on full, a nasty clunk can be heard espeicaly when reversing. It sounds like a ping bong ball been twatted of my bonnet!!!

Ive had the cambers / tracking done and replaced my front anti roll bar & bushes to no avail. Ive checked the wish bones & suspention and cant find any play their neither ?

Just wondering if this is comon or normal for scoobies to do this???:wonder:

possibly, my old corsa does it and the cv joint are knackered, especially in reverse at full lock

sounds like the power steering pump to me
