best to get it from main dealer [original subaru] part no ; 22690AA321
£134.77 including vat. not cheap but will last and perform better than the aftermarket universal types.

Not sure if a MY99 is the same as a UK MY00, but I got one from Monty's Subaru (main dealer 0114 221 4333) for £70.70 inc. VAT six months ago. This was part number S22794AA010.

These are available ex stock from BR Developments. Give Branko a ring. ;)
Also available from RCMS.

I got a MY98 one off Subaru - £120 IIRC. I did look around on ebay and at motor factors etc, but my genuine one simply dropped straight in, same plug, no chopping of wires, I know it's the same quality as the original and TBH £120 was cheap compared to how much Subaru want for other things on my shopping list e.g. throttle position sensor, MAF sensor, idle air control valve - all almost £300 each!

Sideways : Have you fitted one of these and do you have the method of connecting the different coloured wires to the O/E loom???

Scott.T 10 May 2006 06:50 PM

I used a 4-wire universal and attached the 2 heater wires and signal wire to an OE connector.
I then put a crimp ring on the 4th wire, then grouned it to the chassis under the intercooler.

IMHO using a 4 wire universal can give you a better ground rather then relying on the 3-wire OE grounding itself through the Downpipe.

I did the same as scott, if you get a three wire universal you connect black of sensor to white on car and it dosent matter which way you join the other two wires, if you get a four wire it is the same apart from the grey wire which is just an earth wire, as the three wire earths its self through the exhaust
