fuel confused! help!
 
Got people telling me to run my97 uk tub on optimax/ super unleaded and some telling me that its ok not too as its a uk one,,,


help!

yes it is ok to use normal 95, but personally if i was you, i'd run it on optimax.

having said that the filler cap on mine (uk my00) says use super unleaded, but anyway as said i'd sick to optimax.

I found after switching to optiamx that the car idled more smoothly, pulled better from lower down the revs and returned better mpg, enough of a gain to offset the extra cost of the optimax over standard 95 ron.

You need to fill your tank full of optimax, disconnect the battery for a few hours, then reconnect the battery, take it for a steady drive, mid range revs(not a blast). This is for the ecu to re-adjust to the new fuel.

I had a late 96 model, the sticker in the filler cap said SuperUnleaded so I would even if it just makes you feel better

yeah its only a little bit more expensive,

does it matter wether its optimax or super?? i dont have many shell garages near me
