Heater matrix

Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of advise - my heater matrix went on me this morning letting quite a lot of coolant build up into a nice little pool in the passenger side foot well :( .
I phoned the garage that I use who only really work on Subaru’s was advised to keep the car on the road for the mo I can just join the coolant pipes together the coolant going into the matrix and the return pipe (if that makes sense?) and the car will run fine just won't have any heat at all until fixed.
I took the intercooler off etc; etc flushed out the coolant joined the pipes together and re-filled the coolant car is going o.k. now and no more water leaking inside the car.

My question has any one else done this??? Is it just a case the car will run as normal but have no heater??

Thanks in advance.

I cannot see it being a problem for a temporary fix.

no it wont be a problem at all

It wont be a problem as long as the pipes arent kinked/bent and the flow is not restricted.

BTW,I have a matrix for the 96 model wrx if you need it.
