Can imports be run on super unleaded ?
as title really, if they have standard ecu etc, or is optimax/octane booster a must, forget bhp figures, im on about general running of car.
and,if an uprated ecu is fitted, can it be used ? cheers..... |
what is it a wrx or a wrx sti?? etc
1st car 96 wrx - ran on regular ul - no probs 2nd car 99 str - strictly super but if you can go for super/ optimax why not? |
its just a wrx, my99
i wanna use normal unleaded, i begrudge paying rip off prices making fat cats rich etc so dont want to pay more if i dont need to,as i said, stock bhp is enuff for me |
should be ok - others may disagree - dont cane her though!!!
i mean the safest bet is a higher knock level especially for a performance car - but if your thrashing it - why not opt for 1 out of 4 tanks on super? |
is that waht the knock sensor is for, the digi dash thing, never understood that, it registers the octane level of fuel, or am i way off the mark ?!?!
cheers. |

cheers. It registers the noise levels coming from the cylinder(sp), the more noise the greater the chances of det, det=very bad as it normally kills your piston. I was once given a great bit of advice by a well known mapper on here and that is it if was designed to run 100 ron fuel then run it on 100 ron. Tony:D |
are they meant to run on 100 ron tho ?
i mean, before optimax, super unleaded was all there was, or did every fill up require hughe amounts of that expensive octane boost stuff, made by the Nos doctor or summut LOL ?!?! cheer for info |

Yes they are mapped for 100 ron fuel, not 95 or 97 ron.
