I'm a bit of a simpleton but its just taken me 20 minutes to close the boot for the first time on my 2001 WRX and then it was just luck.
Do you have to flick the clip across or something (unfortunately my manual is Dutch)

Yours ashamedly

i really have to slam mine, but its getting easier day by day

the clip disables the boot release in the car near petrol flap release

mine also needed quite a slam to start with. Gets better with time.

Cheers, Mine needs a real slamming!

LoFi 29 October 2001 05:53 PM

sad that i am i had another look at mine over the w/e. Hard to shut if you slam from the left side, much easier if you slam (or even just close normally) from the right side. Odd.

Spray some WD40 on the lock mechanism should help :)

Bloody hell!
Here's me thinking I was alone on this one.It takes 2-3 attempts to close my boot and even then,it needs a bit of force to close it.
Was gonna mention it next time it went in for a service!

Cheers,

Nick..
