Was it you? The Richard Burns Memorial Relay run
This special "Was it You" section is for all postings related to the Richard Burns memorial Relay taking place this Saturday and Sunday.
Unlike the normal WIY section, we would like to add to the whole event, by asking you to post up any photographs as well as text. The aim is to give a "photographic and descriptive " feel to the 2 days combined with sightings, whether you are involved in the relay itself, or just spot it passing you. Enjoy the event and get posting :D |
Thanks Sammy

Its all about the dartford tunnel :norty: and making as much noise as possible!!!!!
|
well we have the tunnel, but i am sure the other relay legs will have just as much fun as us, so we cant brag just yet ;)
I personally would love to do some of the northern windy road sections..we just get the blooming big M25 car park :( |

Was it you lot following me?? about 100 at least :D
Will post any pictures I Have later, but for now..well WOW :luxhello: Started off with our mini convoy this morning of just 3 :lol1: , heard that callum and boys were "making progress :D " and were ahead of schedule. So forgot the M4 meet up and just had to peg it to catch them on the M25. Arrived at Clackett Servivces to be greeted by ...well lets just say, a few :eek2: Dear God we must have filled one side of the car park, must have been at least 80+. Quick chat with various people, a stirring rally by Callum himself and then we were off. It took us 10 mins to get out of the services, so that gives some idea of the number. The line of scoobs stretched as far as you could see. :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...h/DSCF0002.jpg Then the fun began as we went round the M25. The tunnel was the highlight of the drive, well worth a (flaming) quid !! God knows what the other poor souls thought as we all flashed by, but got a fair few thumbs up and smiles from non-scoob drivers :thumb: Around the M25 and then up the M40. I thought the convoy of cars must end at some point, but it just seemed to be endless and I kept passing more and more. As we were early, we had an inpromtu pit stop http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...h/DSCF0006.jpg before arriving at the main event (well for us southern lot)...PRODRIVE. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...h/DSCF0030.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/09...h/DSCF0015.jpg If you were the first there, it must have been amazing to see the endless stream of cars arrive and fill up just about every space they had :) Prodrive was just superb, what they laid on for us, what we saw and finished off with a demonstration by two of Richard's cars. And then to finish the day off, we had a mini convoy on the way home :lol1: What a prefect day and as everyone says, a memory to be cherished by both myself and my two little boys. Was it you...I blooming hope so :D |
think it was me following you :D - i counted well over 130 at the services on the M40 and must have been 200 ish at prodrive.
awesome experience and a fitting way to remember Richard Burns and raise money for cancer Research - shame Shell didnt give anything from Optimax sales :( |
One of the stars on the day was Richard's dad, I can honestly say that he didn't stop smiling the whole day. He was thoroughly immersed in the whole experience, and looked he was having the time of his life.
