I've got Pilot HID's from http://www.hids4u.co.uk/, 100 times better than standard lamps, well worth the money

anybody got a picture of the colour of the light their HID kits throw off

You can buy HID in a range of colour temperatures.

Auto lamps on line sell kits to people who want to see where they're going rather than people who wanted a BMW. When I bought mine they advised a colour temperature of 4200k gives you the best visibility, a colour temperature of 6000k will look a bit blue, like the BMW's, a colour temperature of 8000k will be lax bowel blue and 10,000k will be almost purple.

So depends what you want them for, I bought 4200k:)
