Lowering a classic on 17's

Can anyone tell me if I would be able to lower my 99T UK Turbo by 35mm if I fit 17inch alloys with 215/40/17 tyres. Would i need any arch work done or would they fit with no problems?

If anyone has done this some pics would be nice :luxhello:

Cheers guys

I think you might get away with it if lowered by 20mm.
Rear arches might give you some grief.

215's on the rear do get a little close for comfort on the rear arch, how bad depends on the offset of the rims used..

What if the off set was 48...215/40/17 or 205/45/17 ??

I slammed mine on 215/35/18's... with the help of coilovers... no catching what so ever... could have them in the arches and still no catching...

My MYOO was very low on 17's (Leda B coilovers). I've just had 18's fitted and lifted the ride height by 25mm. Before raising the height i was measuring about 608mm from ground to centre of wheel arch, with no rubbing under any circ's. I've no idea what the standard height is, but Andy at Leda told me the majority of their customers had the height lowered to about 640mm!

Hi,

have superlegera 7x17 et 48 with 205/45/17and have no problems, from the ground to wheel arch I mesure 610 mm, with 215/40/17 +/- 600/605mm.
when I change tires I'll fit again 215/40/17 and want to lower to +/- 590mm :D :D
