cluncking while on full lock and some times when accelarating hard
 

on a flat road their is no noise but while going down country lanes there is a clucking from the front and also when turning hard left some times it does it ans some times it doesnt!!does this point at the ball joint being fubared iv checked there is nothing hanging off and it all seems to be fine and its not the anti roll bar as thats like new the car it a wrx sti 1995 thanks for your help !!

I have not noticed any clunking when driving normally, but have had a similar problem for a few years now.

The clunking comes on only after a long drive and it only happens when I drive on full lock. It is at it's worst when I reverse on full lock.

I have had this checked by four different subaru dealers over the past three years and each has assured me that it is nothing more than a worn anti roll bar link and that it is nothing to worry about.

However, I have replaced both link rods and am still having the same problem.

Any advice would be grately appreciated.

well iv replaced both ball joints now and am taking it to suabru 2moz iv check all anti roll bar bushes and what have you the only thing i think it could be is the bushes/bearing on top of the suspension mounts but im only guessing at this stage but im glad to see so many people have replied to help use out !!!:lol1:

i have a sti 02 and i notice noises as well

when i drive slowly i.e to park and i turn the streering all the way i get some really loud clunking noises from the rear more than the front, sounds as if my suspension is moving left and right , i would appriciate if soomeone could shed somw light into this problem.

I get this on a MY01 WRX, been check out by subaru and by me.

Only happens at low speed and seems more apparent from the rear, I've out it down to the car being dropped by about 50mm by the previous owner.

Struts braces have had no effect either good or bad.

Can't say it's worrying me yet
